This page is here to give you an idea of what to expect from Tyner Graphics from the beginning to the end of your project. Some or all of the following information may apply. Now let me walk you through it step by step.
The following is a typical project. (Customers requiring logo design will likely have a bit different process involving vector based art work.)
This company had a rough idea of what they wanted for their upcoming festival shirts. After speaking with them and showing them Jon's portfolio; they agreed to let Jon run with the basic idea they had provided and embellish is as he saw fit.
First is the pencil design. Here Jon is completing his concept drawing for the design centerpiece. After the design is roughed out in pencil, it is scanned and essential type elements are added to give the customer a feel for how the design will look. It then goes to the customer for approval. THIS IS THE STAGE WHERE ALL DESIGN CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE. At this stage after conferring with the customer, we will decide roughly how many colors we will eventually print based on the design and their budget. Once approved, the design moves on to the ink stage.
Here you see Jon working on the ink stage of this project. This is a time consuming and meticulous process. The ink is the framework for the design, it keeps it clean and holds the color work together. In this particular design the customer requested a high degree of detail, so stippling ( a process using tiny dots for shading) was used. Depending upon a customers needs this is not always necessary.
Keep in mind that any design element changes made once the inking process has begun will take roughly twice as long to complete as they would in the pencil stage ( directly impacting your art costs).
From here the ink is scanned once again and laid out with all type elements and is sent for final approval before color begins.
The color stage is where the design really begins to come to life. The previously scanned ink is imported into Adobe Photoshop, where Jon then pics out a color palette and begins working his magic. Here Jon is finishing the sky in our focus project. From this point the customer will make any final color changes. ie. sky is too red, not enough green in the grass, darker shadows etc.
For customers who do not choose to order garments or just need artwork or logo design, this is where your project ends.
After the color is completed Jon will then put together a sample sheet with either the garment colors requested by the customer, or if you prefer he can pick a color pallatte that best suits the design. From there you decide how many of what colors you need and a print order is then finalized.
Tyner Graphics will then order the necessary garments and have them shipped to one of our print facilities to complete your order. Once printed, the garments will then be shipped to you. If you are within a 100 mile radius, we will personally deliver them to offset the cost of shipping for you.
